About Dr Khorana

What Inspired You to Become a Doctor?

What inspired me to become a doctor was growing up surrounded by family friends and relatives who worked in medicine. I saw first-hand how dedicated, compassionate, and impactful they were in their work. They were always willing to help others. That environment naturally shaped my interest in medicine and inspired me to pursue a career where I could make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

What Areas of Medicine are You Particularly Interested In?

I am particularly interested in dermatology, as the skin is not only the body’s largest organ but also one of the most visible and impactful on a person’s confidence and wellbeing.

What Led to Your Special Interest in Dermatology?

My interest in dermatology developed from a combination of clinical exposure and an appreciation for the visible impact skin conditions can have on patients’ lives.

During my training and practice, I saw how significantly skin health can affect a person’s confidence, comfort, and overall wellbeing. I was drawn to the variety within dermatology, from managing common conditions to recognising more complex presentations, as well as the opportunity to provide both medical and preventative care.

Being able to see tangible improvements and build ongoing relationships with patients made dermatology a particularly rewarding area for me.

Are There Any Routine Checks or Screenings you Think People Should Prioritise?

Absolutely – routine checks are crucial, and the choice depends on age, family history, and personal risk factors. Standard screenings like blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, and cancer checks (breast, cervical, colon) are foundational.

The Randox Health Screen is a great addition for those who want a more comprehensive overview. It goes beyond basic panels – assessing organ function, hormones, heart health, and other markers in detail.

What Should Patients Expect From a Consultation With You?

Patients can expect a warm, personal approach from the very first appointment. I take the time to really listen, understand your concerns, and explain things clearly- no rushing, no jargon.

Whether it’s a routine check, preventive advice, or managing a health issue, I make sure you feel heard and supported, and we work together on the best plan for your health.

How would you describe your approach when seeing patients?

I’d describe my approach as personal, proactive, and practical. I focus on really listening to each patient, understanding their individual health goals, and giving clear, actionable advice.

I combine preventive care with tailored management, making sure patients feel supported, informed, and confident in the decisions we make together.

What Do You Enjoy Doing Outside of Work?

Outside of work, I stay active and creative – I occasionally train in Muay Thai, enjoy cooking, work with skincare brands and focus on education in aesthetics as a trainer for Interface Aesthetics.

Most importantly, I love spending quality time with my family, especially my toddler.

If You Could Give Patients One Piece of Advice About Looking After Their Health, What Would it Be?

If I could give patients one piece of advice, it would be – invest in your health early and consistently, there are no shortcuts. Focus on prevention with a balanced, whole-food diet, regular activity, and routine check-ups. Small, consistent steps now make a huge difference to your long-term wellbeing.
