Private Weight Loss Injections Birmingham
Weight loss injections are prescription drugs that belong to a group of medications called glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists. They work by mimicking a natural gut hormone that regulates appetite. This means:
- Your brain receives signals that you have eaten, making you feel fuller sooner.
- Your stomach empties more slowly, keeping you feeling fuller for longer.
- Blood sugar levels become more stable, reducing hunger pangs and ‘sugar cravings’.
- Snacking and overall calorie intake naturally decrease.
It is important to note that weight management injections are only prescribed after you’ve been seen by our doctor and are used to aid weight loss. You will still need to follow dietary and exercise advice and not rely on the injections to do all the work.
- A body mass index (BMI) of 30+, or a BMI of 27-30 and a weight-related medical condition or risk factor, such as prediabetes, hypertension, osteoarthritis, etc.
- You do not take any medications or have a medical condition that makes it unsafe to take weight loss medication.
- You do not have an allergy to any of the ingredients in the injection.
Suitability for weight loss injections is assessed on an individual basis. Your doctor will discuss your personal health history, any existing conditions and any medications you are taking before making a recommendation.
Alevere Nutrition – Medically Supervised Nutrition Programme
Alevere Nutrition is a medically formulated weight management nutrition programme, helping people lose weight safely.
The Alevere programme was developed by doctors using a high-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that supports the body during weight loss while protecting muscle tissue.
How does Alevere work?
The Alevere weight loss programme aims to keep insulin production fully suppressed to baseline levels and to stabilise the blood glucose at constant and normal levels.
Our nutrition plan is designed to be straightforward and adaptable to your daily life. Alevere is not a meal replacement diet. Instead, you’ll have access to a range of Alevere nutrition supplement products that can be combined with a carefully selected variety of fruits, salads and vegetables.
Combining Weight Loss Injections with Alevere Nutrition
When combined with weight loss injections, Alevere Nutrition helps you
- Preserve lean muscle mass during fat loss
- Protect bone health and density
- Keep energy levels steady throughout your programme
- Giving the body a structured, reliable source of daily protein
- Avoid any nutritional gaps whilst on weight loss injections
- Support metabolic health and blood sugar regulation
- Maximise and sustain long-term weight loss
It is also important to be clear: weight loss injections are not a replacement for a healthy lifestyle. Exercise and balanced eating remain essential throughout the programme. Our doctors and nurse prescriber will give you practical lifestyle and dietary advice.

Book a Consultation at our Weight Loss Clinic in Birmingham
If you are struggling with general lifestyle changes such as diet and exercise, book a consultation at our weight loss clinic in Birmingham.
We recommend that all patients undergo blood tests to check for diabetes, cholesterol issues, and thyroid, liver and kidney function in order to exclude underlying problems. This will also help monitor your weight loss progress. Blood tests are not compulsory, but they are strongly recommended, and they give your doctor a clear picture of your health so your programme can be tailored properly.
What Happens at a Weight Loss Consultation?
Your first appointment is a 30-minute consultation with one of our doctors. Our doctor will assess your health history, your current lifestyle and your weight loss goals.
At your follow-up appointment, your doctor or nurse will:
- Weigh you and calculate your BMI
- Check your blood pressure
- Take a blood test, if recommended
After that, ongoing appointments are needed to monitor your progress, adjust any part of the treatment if needed and review your overall health.

Weight management injectables contain receptor agonists which slow the speed at which your stomach empties. In turn, you’ll have reduced cravings, keeping you fuller for longer even though you are eating less. They can also improve your insulin sensitivity, which allows your cells to use blood sugar more effectively, reducing your overall blood sugar levels.
Weight management injections, combined with a nutritious diet and exercise plan, can help you to healthily achieve your goals. All this without developing an unhealthy outlook on weight management.
For more information about weight management injections, contact us today. Alternatively, you can book a consultation appointment directly through the booking form on our website. We put ethics and your safety far before profit. So any weight management treatments or services you may receive are subject to thorough consultations and complete evaluation.
Your medical history is influential in your suitability for weight loss injections. Information about medications you’re taking, surgeries you’ve had, and any current medical conditions is helpful to formulate a course of treatment.
It’s also a good idea to keep a log of the food you eat and the exercise you do in the weeks leading up to your appointment so we can decide on a healthy course of action. And finally, your family’s medical history, relating specifically to obesity, diabetes and heart disease.
First, you’ll have a consultation, where we’ll discuss your lifestyle and your goals and assess why your previous efforts were unsuccessful. We’ll then consider your medical history to rule out any biological reasons why you may struggle with weight management.
Once your consultation is complete, we’ll take weight and height measurements to calculate your BMI. We determine your BMI to provide a baseline measurement and ensure your weight management is working.
Then, we’ll conduct blood tests to discover your cholesterol and blood sugar levels and your liver and thyroid functions. These assessments will help us to develop a comprehensive weight management plan for you.
We’ll have follow-up appointments to keep track of your weight management and alter your plan to suit your goals better. Weight management is not one-size-fits-all and highly personal. So, a few amendments to your plan may be necessary to ensure you achieve your desired results.
Yes. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is essential to seeing the optimal effects of weight management injections. With injections alone, the changes to your body will be slower, less noticeable and make you feel as though you’ve stagnated. Weight management injections work best when taken alongside a healthy dose of exercise and diet.
